The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has introduced a new application status tracker for Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.
The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently announced an extension to its online application status trackers to include four new categories. The new status trackers will give clients the ability to keep track of their applications and stay informed of any updates or required actions to progress their file. The four new categories include the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) under Express Entry, the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and candidates in Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
These two programs, Express Entry and PNP, are among the most prominent economic immigration pathways for newcomers to Canada. The country plans to welcome nearly 190,000 immigrants through these two pathways in the current year, with a projected increase to over 230,000 by 2025. As of January 31, there were 47,868 applicants waiting in the queue for Express Entry programs and 66,214 for PNPs.
The status trackers aim to increase transparency by providing clients with direct access to information, making it more efficient than other methods of communication with IRCC. The new online trackers are part of IRCC’s efforts to digitize and improve access to information, and more types of applications are expected to have status tracking available in the near future. One year ago, IRCC introduced status trackers for family class permanent residency applicants, sponsors, and their representatives to easily check their application status online.
